Hi,

When I create a footprint for a SOT23 package there is no pin 1 indicator on the 3D model. The pin 1 indicator on the silkscreen and assembly drawing appear, but that is it.

Thanks
Todd

Component manufacturers do not put Polarity Marking on SOT23 packages.

There are currently 3 pin pitches for SOT23 type packages -
  1. 0.95 mm
  2. 0.65 mm
  3. 0.50 mm
Send us a picture of a SOT23 physical package with a polarity marker.

You can Google search SOT23 Packages and you will not see any Polarity Marking.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the clarification. At some time in the past you must have included them as I have many SOT23 packages with the polarity marker. It doesn't worry me that its not there, it was just because I saw it on previous models that it concerned me that I had changed something for the indicator not to be there anymore.

Thanks
Todd

Yes, we originally had a Polarity Marker on SOT23, but when the industry produced a 0.50 mm pitch, there was no room on that micro-mini part.

We did the research and found out that CM's do not have Polarity Indication on any SOT23, so we removed it.
