Hi
Is there any documentation for naming the through hole parts? I have a part which is a MINI PCI EXPRESS CONNECTOR LATCH: 1717832-2_C1 of TE Connectivity. How to name its footprint? Can advise as soon as possible? Thanks.

Most connectors are one-of-a-kind but even if they're not, there are slight differences in "Standard" connectors. We recommend a simple name that includes the "Manufacturer Name_Mfr Part Number"
Samples:
AIRBORNE = AIRBORNE_Part Number AMPHENOL = AMPHENOL_Part Number AVX = AVX_Part Number BERG = BERG_Part Number BLOCKMASTER ELECTRONICS = BLOCKMASTER_Part Number CUI-STACK = CUI-STACK_Part Number E.F. JOHNSON = JOHNSON_Part Number ERNI = ERNI_Part Number FCI ELECTRONICS = FCI_Part Number FUJITSU = FUJITSU_Part Number HARTING = HARTING_Part Number HIROSE = HIROSE_Part Number IEH = IEH_Part Number ITT = ITT_Part Number JALCO = JALCO_Part Number JWT = JWT_Part Number JST = JST_Part Number KEYSTONE = KEYSTONE_Part Number KYCON = KYCON_Part Number LEMO = LEMO_Part Number MILL-MAX = MILL-MAX_Part Number MOLEX = MOLEX_Part Number NEUTRIK = NEUTRIK_Part Number PHOENIX = PHOENIX_Part Number PULSE = PULSE_Part Number RIA = RIA_Part Number SAMTEC = SAMTEC_Part Number SIEMENS = SIEMENS_Part Number SPEEDTECH = SPEEDTECH_Part Number STEWART = STEWART_Part Number SULLINS = SULLINS_Part Number SWITCHCRAFT = SWITCHCRAFT_Part Number TE CONNECTIVITY = TE_Part Number YAMAICHI = YAMAICHI_Part Number |

Use IPC standards for naming structures.

There are no IPC Standards for "non-standard component packages" and most Connectors fall into that category.
