Do footprint pads require adjusting when used in a Flex Design?

Good question. 

Yes they do if you want to do it right. 

I recommend that you create a new Preference file called FLEX.dat by simply saving your existing Preference file to a new name. 

Then Solder Mask Define the Toe & Heel (not the Side) by 0.05 mm. This will help the copper pad adhere to the flex board. 

Then in the Console Preferences, overwrite the Suffix from IPC Density L, N, M to FLX or F or whatever you want and create a flex library that is specifically used for flex design. 

You can have multiple Preference files, but be sure to load the correct one for the technology you're using.
