I notice more and more small SMT inductors data sheets asking for C shaped pads.

I would prefer to use rectangular pads even though Cadstar if not PCB Libraries and IPC standard can indeed support Polygon Pads.

Is there any unanticipated problem I am going to encounter by replacing the two C shapes as called out in the data sheet with Rectangles?

Can you please post a web-link to a component package datasheet that has "C-shape" leads or a mfr. recommended pattern the calls for "C-shape" pads?

We would really appreciate it and it's the only way we can support it.

It it exists, we can do it.
