When the software has been modified to create a different part description or part definition it would be helpful to provide a script capability or update button.

Rather than going through an existing data-base one part at a time, double clicking on a row, then clicking on Import Footprint and selecting yes to update the part, please automate this task.

We're working on the auto-update for the FPX file. It will be released this month. Hang in there.

BTW: This V32 "Package Description" update only affects SOP, QFP, PLCC, SOJ families. The old description had the "Body Size" out to the lead tip and the updated "Body Size" is the physical package and does not include the component leads.

To manually update your FPX, just open each affected part in the Viewer and then insert it right back in the same row.

This change was necessary to conform to the updated IPC-7351C standard that will be released in 2013.

I think I will wait until your auto-update is released.

For now it will take up too much of my time doing this manually.

Thank you for working on this.

OK, in V33 there will be a new feature that auto-updates Footprint Names and/or Physical Descriptions.

It's called "Regenrate Library" and it's located in the "Tools" drop-down menu.

I wish I had this a couple days ago before I manually updated the FPX files one row at a time.
