Is this any different than the old PCBLib stuff?

This PADS data was uploaded because people were asking for it. It has not changed in the past couple years. It might be a good idea for someone to go in and clean it up and we can sell it on our upcoming Library Vending Machine and give the person who cleaned it up 25% sales royalty. Of course this like of other for sale libraries will be on a 5 star rating system with comments.

I consider this collection of data a Start-up library and we need to have it for every CAD tool, not just PADS Layout. So the offer is available to everyone using different CAD tools.

The selling price for each CAD tool Start-up library can be negotiated.

I know this is going back a bit but I am using PCBL Toolbar V1.3 on PADS 2005, Win XP. Haven't used it for a bit but now it stops on startup with unhandled exception - cannot create activeX component.

Is there a later version, or any idea what could have been changed?

I looked at the Pads Productivity Kit for a PCI ExpressFull-Mini (F1 or F2) Card outline. Unfortunately it was not in the Kit. Any chance one is available?
Thanks! RLS2004

The PCI Express Full-Mini card is not available, but if you create it and send it to us, we'll add it to the collection. Smile

Tom,

That's the one I already have, but I reloaded this one and had the same issue. Guess I'll have to live with it.

Thanks   ---  Roger

Ladies and Gentlemen,

is there a way to get a working PCBL_Toolbar for PADS 9.4?
Otherwise could you please suggest an alternative tool?

Thx in advance and best regards,
Patrick

Use the PADS Modeless Command "Z".

Z1 = Turn off all layers except Layer 1
ZA = Turn all layers On

Try all the "Z" options and let us know if that works for you.

I know it does not have all the bells and whistles as the "PCB Libraries Toolbar"  but that program was written by Phillip Restall in the UK and he's not around anymore. MIA.

Hello Tom,

Thank you for the quick reply! Smile

I already know these modeless commands. I was just curious of the "bells and whistles" and thought/hoped this tool could have been updated for the version 9.4.
So I will go on with the modeless commands...

Thank you once again and greets from Germany,
Patrick

I tried to download the PADS Productivitiy Kit to see if I could add some outlines or maybe convert for other CAD SW, but I am not able to download. I am logged in and If I push the "PADS Productivitiy Kit button" it seems that the PCBL Members Download PAge is loaded again but nothin else happens.

Best regards
Erwin

I've downloaded PCBL Toolbar but no effects - "Could Not connect to a running PADS Layout Application" - could you attach a Toolbar which works with PADS9.2? Thank you in advance!

The programmer that created PCBL Toolbar has retired and he is in the UK and he has all the code.

PCB Libraries, Inc. is 100% focused on creating an automated global solution to Footprints and 3D model creation for 21 different CAD tools.

My take on this is that you should ask Mentor Graphics to create a Toolbar for PADS Layout V9. This is not rocket science and they have all the code and programmers that can easily do this.

Isn't there a PADS feature wish list anymore? Why do people pay yearly maintenance for? Bug fixes?
