Hi,

PCB Footprint Experts generates Thermal Tab Pattern Paste Mask as Rectangle Shapes.

By rounding the corners of the paste mask openings, solder paste release from the stencil is improved.

That is why I would like to see rounded corners on thermal tab paste mask patterns by applying the existing Corner Rounding values.

At the moment I put the radii manually on smaller sized pattern paste mask where paste release may be an issue.

Still it would not hurt for large paste mask openings to also have rounded corners.

Cheers,
Volkmar

The Paste Mask Aperture openings are laser cut.

Even though the shape in the CAD library is rectangle, the stencil mfr. automatically rounds the corners.

These Stencil Cuts are from a rectangular pad shape or Stencil Aperture Opening.
