Is it possible to automate setting the pin 1 dot in the preferred location as documented in Library Expert Surface Mount Families? My typical workflow consists of modifying the indicator after importing a footprint from PCBL, which is time consuming if I'm making larger changes to a library.

Apologies if this has been answered already!

For V2018, the Pin 1 Dot location is nailed down.

But for V2019, there will be a feature to allow the user to pick the End of Pin 1 or to the Side of Pin 1.

V2019 is scheduled for release in April 2019. It's a complete 100% rewrite of the entire program using new programming languages for coding.

I forgot to mention that there is a feature for manually adding Polarity Marking using 8 different shapes and you determine the Size, Location, Shape, Filled or not Filled, Layer, etc. and it's saved to FPX file.

If I was creating my custom library, I would use the manual mode so that small parts have small polarity markers and Large parts have Large Polarity Marking.

I like to be in control and it only takes a minute to add a custom polarity marker exactly where you want it.

Interesting. Would this mean I would pull the footprint into the Footprint Designer and manipulate the indicator from there?

No, you can manually place these Polarity Markings in any Calculator. No need for FP Designer.
