I guess word pictures are not saved.

Why is the footprint width in the attached picture  87 in the name at the top . Shouldn't it be 38 ?

I cannot open the docx file, it seems corrupted. Can you upload a JPG or PNG file instead?

Hi Nick, Have you seen the jpeg ?

The Extended Footprint Name "L" for all Gullwing Lead parts is "L = the full tolerance range".

i.e.: 1.25 mm minus 0.40 mm = 0.87 mm

I do not know where you came up with 0.38 mm

I thought the extension was going to be the lead with or length ?. What good does the tolerance value do for us?  the .38MM is the nominal lead width.

What good does the Terminal Length value do for you?

Example:
If the Terminal Lead length was 0.38 mm and the Tolerance was +/- 0.4 mm
If the same package dimensions on a different part had a Terminal Lead Length of 0.38 mm with a +/- 0.6 mm tolerance
If the same package dimensions on a different part had a Terminal Lead Length of 0.38 mm with a +/- 0.3 mm tolerance

The end result is the pad length would be different under every scenario but would produce the same exact footprint name.

The Total Tolerance has a higher priority over a fixed value with multiple Tolerances.

You could say the same thing if the terminal lengths were different and the tolerance was the same. its just as easy to add a -1 or -2 to the footprint name since you would have to go back and look at the actual min max values for the pin length any ways. Guess there is not real easy solution unless you create the footprint name with all the parameters.
Thanks
