Rectangle, round, and oblong pads come through OK, but rounded rectangle and D-shaped are atrociously disfigured. I am following the recommended Altium Designer output settings as found in the help files.

Perhaps PADS 2005.2 and 2007.0 do not support these pad shapes, but these results are pretty bad. The pad shape is manually created with poor resolution, along with the expanded solder mask shape.

At least the rounded rectangle shape has been supported by Altium Designer for all the years I've used it, so I would prefer to not have to restrict myself to rectangle shapes then do an additional touch-up step.

Hi Ryan,

Make sure you select PADS Layout V9.3 ASCII so that it uses native rounded rectangles.

Rounded Rectangle pad shape were introduced in PADS V9.1.

So if you're using PADS Layout V2005.2, rounded rectangle didn't exist yet.

If you're using Altium 13.3 or 14.2 set your default CAD output to PADS Layout V9.3. That is what our new V2014 Library Expert will default to.

I have FPX 2013.20. Is this the latest?

Thank you for the correct settings. They worked nicely.
