I was under the impression that there is no environment added to the end of the BGA footprints, as indicated on the downloadable PDF from this site, however the Build Footprint in FPX adds a "L" environment at the end.

All Grid Array component families only have 1-tier for Pad Size calculations.

The other elements that change with 3-Tiers are –

·         Silkscreen Line Width

·         Reference Designator Height

·         Local Fiducial Size

·         Placement Courtyard Excess

However, if you want to change the Pad Size reduction percentage you have control of that in “Terminal > Settings > Size Adjustment” or you can permanently change it in User Preferences.

Grid arrays have a different preference structure. That’s because preference settings are dependent on the nominal ball  (or terminal size).  That is what determines the environment.

Sizes above 0.50 are considered ‘Most’; else sizes greater than 0.25 are ‘Nominal’ and anything smaller is ‘Least’.

Mask, Stencil and Courtyard settings are set directly in the preference table.

This environment will flow through to any other dependencies like assembly or silkscreen outline mapping.
