The are a number of settings that come up as default values and have to be changed every time you use FP Designer. I would be nice to be able to change these values to something other then the default values.

Hi Jeff,

Please look at the attached JPG drawings. For the first one it is all these values and the second picture the ones at the bottom. I could not find anywhere where you can change these defaults. maybe I missed something ?

The FP Designer is somewhat unique from the calculators when it comes to preferences.  For example, all surface mount pads are constructed manually so there's no need for environmental (toe, heel, side) preferences.  Through-hole pads, on the other hand, are still calculated based on the hole size (since mfrs. seldom provide TH pad sizes).  For this reason the drafting preferences for FP designer are based on the Fabrication Level and the TH pads calculated on the TH terminal preferences.  This allows FP Designer parts to be reconstructed at any FAB level.  You can change the drafting preferences on the fly but the next time the part is loaded it will be rebuilt at the Default (or User) preference FAB level.  The silkscreen and assembly outline mapping are fixed at Maximum because there're no body tolerance options.
The check box options referred to by jpg 2 set on a part-by-part basis and are saved to the fpx file. They will be recovered whenever the part is reloaded or rebuilt.
