Is there a setting or preference to identify the pad style in the name?

Most of library contain rectangle type pads. We are now considering using oblong pads on all parts, but can NOT change existing cells.

From what I can tell both rectangle and oblong pads use the same naming convention.

I am looking for a way of identifying what style pads are being used without manually changing the name.

Hope this makes sense,

Jeff

You can recreate an entire library regardless of how many parts are in your FPX file.

Open Preferences.

Save the Preferences under a new name to indicate the Pad Shape.

In Preferences > Components change the pad shapes to Oblong

In Console Preferences > Overwrite Footprint Name Level > enter 3 characters that indicate Oblong example: OBL or OBG or OB or O

Then Batch create your entire library and O will be the last character in the Footprint Name.

It's really easy to do and you can create dozens of different libraries this way.
