I took a look at the 7351-C.opt, and it changes some things that I wouldn't have expected. Are these intentional?

On TO92 and TOCyl
Pin1PadShape="Sqr"
instead of Pin1PadShape="Rnd" in the default preferences

Under <InwardL> the divisions are like
"<!--Height > 2.20 and <= 3.20 mm-->"
instead of
"<!--Pitch > 0.65 and  <= 080 mm-->"
in the default preferences

Under <BGANC>
PasteMaskExcess="0"
instead of PasteMaskExcess="100" in the default preferences

Under <TH_Terminal_Options>
HoleSizeRound="0.05" and PadSizeRound="0.01" are missing

It's IPC-7351C.opt that I was looking at.

TO-92 must have a round pin 1 pad shape because the corner of a square pad cuts into the silkscreen outline. WE just discovered this last week. We updated the IPC-7351C .opt file for the V2021.08 release.

There are two Inward L leads.
  • Inward Flat Ribbon L Lead = 2-pin Molded Body component family (requires Height)
  • Inward L-Lead = multiple pin SOL component family (requires pin pitch)

Looks like IPC-7351C.opt lists heights in the comments for the Gullwing SOT parts.

</GullwingSOT>
      <InwardL>
        <Applications>
          <Application_0>
            <!--Height > 4.20 mm-->

Are these changes intentional too?

Under <BGANC>
PasteMaskExcess="0"
instead of PasteMaskExcess="100" in the default preferences

Under <TH_Terminal_Options>
HoleSizeRound="0.05" and PadSizeRound="0.01" are missing

I think I know what happened.

The IPC-7351C .opt file was created 2 months ago and there have been multiple updated to the Options since then and the IPC-7351C .opt file is corrupt and needs to be regenerated from scratch incorporating all the latest Option settings.

There will be a new IPC-7351C Option file in the next V2021.08 pre-release

Thank you for reporting this issue. We would have never known.

Can you add support for ASSEMBLY_TOP labels value?

Not immediately but we'll put it on the to do list.

The next phase of V2021 development is to redesign all 25 CAD tool translator user interfaces and then rewrite all the translators. That process will take several months.
