Hello,

This is probably a very silly question, but how do I use the SMD reference calculator?

Is L/S/T/W information gathered from the package data sheet, and C/X/Y the recommended footprint outlines?

Thank you for your help.

The purpose of the reference calculator is to help understanding the IPC land pattern calculation as set forth in the IPC-7351 publication.  L, S, T and W are terminal dimensions provided by the component manufacturer.  C, X and Y are the dimensions of the calculated land pattern.
You should refer to chapter 3 of the publication for a full explanation.
