Hi forum users,

when I create a new schematic symbol for a MCU using the block wizard I have to spend a lot of time in order to write on my own the pin labels. Sometimes the number of pins is about 100. I have seen that Cadstar gives the opportunity to import a pin list written in a csv format but I cannot find an example.

Does somebody know how this csv file should be written?

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

In the help search for

Aldec .csv Information

If you cannot figure it out from that post back and I'll find an example file when I return to work in the new year.

By having a good pin list it allows you to import all the gates, pins, pin side - pin labels etc into your symbols within the block wizard, which then allows you to output a multigate file which can be imported during part creation to fill in all the pin mapping and labels.

This enabled me to make a 1760 pin BGA part with about 40 symbols in under 30 minutes Big smile

Took a heck of a lot longer to check and validate it all.
