Today I down loaded Library Lite and Library viewer and have a couple of questions. For years I have used IPC LP Viewer, and Wizard from PADS, originally created by Tom Hauser. The first thing I noticed when I open the Library Lite program window and created a simple chip resistor package that there was a picture of the part in the component panel but no dimensions for the component or resulting foot print, those dimensions only show up in a small picture on the left side.
Anyone that uses  the IPC LP viewer knows that all of the dimensions that pertain the component, foot print, etc. are clearly displayed in the component panel. There is also a large library of standard IPC footprints available to the user as well which I do not see in the Library Lite program.

Am I missing something or does this package not have the same basic features as LP Viewer and LP Wizard? Is there a video and .pdf tutorial on how to use the Library Lite and Library viewer programs.

Thanks for the help.

Jim

Library Expert Lite is a simple IPC-7351 calculator. The user has access to local rules. You can only create footprints using component dimensions. You do not have access to Parts on Demand (POD) to import FPX files, however, you can purchase the Library Expert Librarian for $495 that allows you to create, edit, save, import FPX files for POD.

The Free Library Expert Viewer is primarily used by the Professional Users to allow co-workers, customers and others to view the company library with all the Rules that were used. You can import FPX files to View them but you cannot Save them. It's a free viewer.
