Vishay for example uses for the SS5P6 the TO-277A package, they call this package SMPC
This package is not an Transistor Outline (TO, DPAK) as there are no gull wing leads, nor is it an SOTFL as the lead width is not the same for all leads. What would be the recommended way to generate such a footprint with Library Expert Pro ? (we actually still stay with 2015-08) |

The JEDEC TO-277A Package is not in the IPC-7351 standard yet.
You can create this footprint in less than 5 minutes in FP Designer. |

I would highly recommend that you upgrade to the V2015.11 release next week.
You can get the V2015.11 pre-release right now - www.pcblibraries.com/downloads |

What about reusing the modified and saved saved preferences (User and Default) from 2015-08 to 2015-11?
Is it just an installation of the new version and pointing to the existing old preferences or do we need to obey something ? checking all component settings for example. |

The program automatically keeps and updates your Preference files with any new features. When you install the Library Expert it uninstalls the old version and installs the new version but it never deletes your Preference or FPX files.
Important Note: In the next release, we are removing User and Default Preferences as they are redundant Preferences. When you open the Preferences menu everything will be just "Preferences". You will be able to load your existing Default Preference files into the new menu. You will be able to create and Save new Preferences.
