When we 'export' our library from the Expert to a PADs library, we want all the part attributes to go with it.  But it looks like until you can also export a schematic symbol to attach those attributes to, there is nothing to hang them on.

Is that correct?  If incorrect, how can we get the attributes to accompany or otherwise attach them so they show up in a BOM?

PADS Layout attributes default to the "Part Type". This includes Pin Rename and Alphanumeric Pins.

If you want Alphanumeric Pins to always be in the "Part Decal" then unselect the "Map Alphanumeric Pins" option in the CAD Tool Export menu and select "Save Entries as Preferences" so that it is always unselected.

Currently we don't support custom attributes. The only two that are currently generated are Description and Geometry.Height.

I am seeing also a case code, manufacturer, and a data sheet.  Then there is whatever we may add when we create the library.

Is there no way to carry that information over to PADs so that it ends up available in that library (so that we do not have to reenter it).

We are going to be running New Feature Poll questions when "Parts on Demand" (POD) is released.

We get most of our poll questions from this forum - Product Suggestions

http://www.pcblibraries.com/forum/product-suggestions_forum33.html

10,000 PCB designers will be invited to take the 1st poll to determine which new features they want the most and that is where the software programmers will get there workload for 2014.

We'll be sending out our first Newsletter inviting our customers to vote this month.
