I made a BGA part and would like to update the padstack on it. The part is already imported into a library. If I show the footprint and then modify it, how do I get the changes to update. Clicking on import footprint again just adds another row with the same footprint name, but the changes are not there. |

Tom,
I made a BGA and imported it into an .fpx library. I now want to change the pad to increase the solder mask opening and replace the part that is in the .fpx library. Here are the steps that I was trying to use.

I still don't know if you used the IPC Calculator or FP Designer to create the BGA footprint. It sounds to me like you used FP Designer, so it must be a non-standard BGA. Is this true? |

Regardless if you created the BGA using the IPC Calculator or the Footprint Designer, they both get updated into your FPX library that same way. Open your FPX library and select the Gray Button (ITEM 1) to the left of the Footprint name to highlight the entire row. Then select the "Insert Part" icon (ITEM 2) in the toolbar and it will automatically update your FPX library line item with your Component Dimensional changes or your FP Designer mfr. recommended footprint changes - You will get prompted to "Update Selected Item" -
