Hello,

I'm new to the tools and PCB footprint design in general and I haven't had any luck searching for this in the forum so far. I'm creating a simple 0603 footprint for a PPTC fuse and I'm getting the attached warning after calculating:

I have "Use manufacturer's recommended dimensions" UNCHECKED, so this calculation should be the IPC-compliant version of the footprint. I would think it would be possible to fit the silkscreen annotations in a 0603 footprint, no?

My relevant drafting settings are as follows:

Thank you in advance for your help.

Chris

The silkscreen outline is auto-generated by your Option Settings.

If Footprint Expert only obeys your rules. To small is to small to obey your rules.

You have 2 options.
  1. Add a Drafting Outline > Rectangular > Silkscreen > your x/y dimensions - then save to FPX library
  2. Move the chip from the Calculator to FP Designer. FP Designer auto generates a silkscreen outline if the rules are violated.
