Hi,
Using the version 23.12 I've realized that when I create a new component and save it on a folder, always I get the message "CAD options settings were changed. Do you want to save the new settings?" This message is quite unfriendly because I save the created components in different folders on my computer before creating the library in Altium. On before versions I didn't get this message. What can I do not to get this message? Thanks in advance. david |

I agree - it's an unnecessary check; I get the same message each time too for the same reason.

Hi Ian S,
Yes, I believe that It is an unnecessary check too. When I create a component, I create it for Nominal and Least density. So I get this message twice for each component. It is not handy. We have added a step, a click to the footprint creation procedure ... david

The 'Save to Directory' is intended to be a place where you place all your translated projects.
For that reason, the general directory only is saved and then displayed for each new part. Since you're trying to create a new subfolder for each part you create, you're triggering the 'ask to save' message. Since Altium, when you choose 'Run Script', filters all files by the .prjscr file extension there is generally no need to do what you're doing. But we'll see what we can do to filter out the file name and only work with the directory. Do you use the same directory for all your footprint subfolders?

For Allegro - I always use the same directory.
For PADS Layout - same directory for all, different target libraries. Regards, Ian |

Hi,
In our case, we always create the sub-folders with the scripts in the same directory or folder. We have defined an User_Data folder where there is a PCB_Library_Expert folder and inside of it we create the folders with the created scripts. Untill now hadn't had problems. Regards, david

A new option has been added to the Altium translator that will allow you select between saving to either the selected output directory only or that directory + the footprint name (similar to the option for Cadence if you have that).
You will still get the 'ask to save to save' message, but only once when you select one or the other. This will be in the next pre-release update, probably 10/24/23.

Hi Jeff,
I've just tested it and it seems that it works as we hope. Tomorrow I will test the release version deeper. Thanks in advance for your help! Regards, david
