I input the dimensions in inches (that's how they are provided in this particular data sheet). When I retrieve the part from the library, the units revert to millimeters.

Parts retrieved from any library are reconstructed in the User Preference Units.
This is to allow you to rebuild any library part in preference units as opposed to always building in component units.

Hello ,

I recently installed the trial license to explore this tool.
Dimension of cells are exported in mm although the user preferences are set in um.
The same applies for the settings once you enter the dimensions of the component.
In my case i was creating a standard chip capacitor in a 0402 footprint.

Any advice on this? I export towards Mentor expedition.

I also have a question regarding the export of footrpints for different version of Mentor expedition. Will this be full reverse compatible ?

I also tried it with the lite version. unfortunatly you can not set anything at all.
Maybe you can add this as an allowable option in the light version.

Regards,
Luc

Are you using the ASCII or direct import variations of the translator?

As for reverse compatible.. no, it won't. We support the HKP Ascii format, so if your tool supports HKP Ascii Import it should read it. And in order to run direct import, you'll need access to the Library Manager, probably 7.9 or later.

Hello ,

I tried a direct import. The version I use is 7.9.2. But soon we will go 7.9.5. I can access the library manager . It is there that I saw that results where not ok.
I will try the ascii import and will notify if this is working .
