Currently I'm using manufacturer recommended footprints for X2Y ceramic capacitors (e.g. Johanson) and feed-through ceramic capacitors (e.g. Murata). I'd like to compare those manufacturer recommended footprints to footprints generated according to IPC-7351. Does Library Expert have a suitable family I could use for that?

The IPC 1-13 Land Pattern Committee has not created a Terminal Lead Form for the center lead of the EMI Chip. However, in Library Expert V2016.13 you can now Calculate a 2-pin Chip footprint move it to FP Designer to quickly add the center pad. You can use the Calculator version for the 3D STEP.
Use FP Designer for all the non-standard parts that the IPC-7351 standard does not have a 3-Tier solder joint goal for the Terminal Lead Form (yet). To manually calculate the middle pad size, the Toe (the pad area that extends away from the body) is 50% of the Terminal Height. We hope to add every 3-pin EMI Filter to POD for free download. Also, it's best to use the Manufacturer recommended pattern that they provide. This is a perfect part for FP Designer. |
