I have made a new leaded header in the FP Designer but I only get a solid block in the 3D Step.

I made an SSOP which came out with all the pins OK.

Am I missing something out ?

This part was made as user defined package.

FP Designer only produces a block with radius corners with no terminal leads because 3D models are created with multiple physical component dimensions and FP Designer is a mfr. recommended footprint builder. You get those 3D STEP models from the component manufacturer.

If you created a standard Header, why didn't you use the Through-hole Header Calculator?

You can also request a high quality 3D model via www.pcblibraries.com/POD and search for the mfr. and part number and the website will transition you to "Request a Part" and request a 3D STEP model for that component package.

Tom
The reason for using the FP Designer was that there are addition fixing pins, which the through hole calculator does not cope with. If you could edit them after the basis have been done that would be good.

Can you post a link to the mfr. datasheet? I need to see what connector (header) you are building.
