Good evening,

At the moment I study electronic design and I'm using Pulsonix.

At a Mentor User Group I found out about PCB Libraries.

I got a problem. I create a library part with PCB Library Expert and save it on ".plx".

With drag and drop I move the .plx-file onto the Pulsonix Library Manager.

At this point an error occurred with the text:
"Failed to import File
'C:\....\led5mmred.plx'

Check that the File you tried to import is ASCII and is on of the types that can be imported.".

Till this point I followed the the instructions.

Could anybody help me? Did anyone have the same errors and solved them?

At last sorry about my English :D

The .PLX format is only supported in the latest builds of Pulsonix 8.0, 5543 and 5544.

The PADS ascii format is also available for Pulsonix.  You can find it in the "Create Footprint" dialogue if you select "Pulsonix (PADS)" next to "Translator".

If you are using Pulsonix versions 7 upwards you can select "PADS version" to be "9.3".

The output can either be ASCII or Part and Decal.  Pulsonix will import both types.

ASCII (.asc) files are imported into the Footprint Library.

Decal (.d) files are imported into the Footprint Library.

You can if you want import a .p file into your Parts Library which will also bring in the footprint .d file into your footprint library, however the part will be named the same as your footprint until you change it.
