There still seems to be a problem with the Lite version (2015.07) in the OrCAD PCB Editor
script generator. (16.60.042) If the check-box "Auto-confirm loss of accuracy" is checked, OrCAD exits with an error message "Command not found Fillin Yes". If the box is unchecked, the script runs without ever asking me to accept the lost accuracy and the footprint is created. So it works, but in a reversed way... |

Certain versions of Allegro/OrCAD PCB use that confirmation box when changing units, some don't. The purpose of the checkbox was to allow you to bypass that window should your version use it and you didn't have to halt processing every time a pad script was run in pad_designer. If your version doesn't have a confirmation box, simply uncheck the box and save it as a preference and the tool will run properly.

Installed 2015.08. OrCAD 16.60.042 (still) protests if the box is checked to set "AutoConfirm...".
Unchecking the box does not result in any dialog box from the PCB Editor, but the tool seems to run. This is the same behavior as before. PCB Editor units are default set to "mm". I have increased the accuracy to "3" (0.001) and I will try to run the tool again tomorrow in order to see if this solves the issue.

tl;dr Simply uncheck the box, save it as a preference, and you're done. That button is not there for the reason you seem to think it is. It has nothing to do with the actual units, it'll try to set the precision to 4 and it'll end up as 3, regardless. On certain versions of Allegro/OrCAD PCB, note: not yours.. a confirmation box will pop. In order for people using that version to bypass that box, the auto-confirm option is set to checked and it provides a single Fillin Yes at that point in the script. In all other versions that don't use that confirmation box, i.e. yours, its turned off. Simply turn it off, save it as a preference, and you're set. |
