Hello,

At Samtec there is a free downloadable library mentioned. Is this still or not yet available or is this something old from Valor age and cancelled by Mentor?

Best regards

Matthias

That is correct. However, we offer 5,000 unique manufacturer components to new customers.

The SAMTEC library for PADS is an Inch Unit based and poor quality library construction.

PCB Libraries, Inc. took 530 of the most popular SAMTEC connectors and cleaned them up and converted them 100% to metric units to match their datasheets which are in millimeters. Then we provided SAMTEC the entire cleaned up library (in PADS format) back to them but they never put the cleaned up version on their website. So we gave SAMTEC a universal translator to translate their inch unit poor quality PADS library to several CAD tool formats.

When the "Parts on Demand" (POD) project opens at www.pcbpod.com every SAMTEC connector will be available in FPX or our new FPT (mfr. recommended solder pattern) formats and you will have the ability to "Search > Find > Add-to-cart > Download > Import into Footprint Expert > Export to any CAD tool" using your user defined preference rules.

Hang in there, it's coming...
