If you have Component Type Quad Flat Pack (QFP) open and input dimensions then the tab order is wrong.  TAB misses out the NOM and Tolerance fields.  If you are in one of these field and press tab you get taken to the next available Min field.  TAB seems to be restricted to Min and Max fields only.

We have got inundated with customer requests to make the "TAB" between the component dimensional cells to jump from "Required Entry" (red * asterix) only and if you want to move the cursor to a non-required entry field you must use your mouse to click there.

This was a new feature in the V38 release that has been requested (and complained) over and over for the past 6 months.

Now we listen and do what the customers ask and we get another complaint. I guess you can't please everyone. We should have have a Survey on the feature, which we'll do on the "Product Suggestions" prior to incorporating them as features.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for replying.  I understand the reasoning behind tabbing between red * fields.  Personally I prefer clicking TAB three separate times in succession to get back to  min.  I can touch type and am quick at using tab in the left hand and the numerical keypad in the right.  I think this is much quicker then having to reach away for the mouse every time to click in a Nom field, and then to have to click again to enter a value in -Tol.

Perhaps I use more parts that have datasheets with Nom, -Tol, and +Tol then everyone else? :)

I think what should happen then is that when you click tab from Count it should go into the first red * field and then go down through the red * fields but if a user clicks in a Nom field then the next tab field should be the -Tol then the +Tol field, then in the +Tol field when the user presses tab again then the next field should be the next red * in the row below.

I suspect you'll going to tell me that would be hugely complicated!

We're going to add this to our new customer "Survey" called "Feature Requests" where everyone will weigh each feature on a 1 - 10 scale (one being least and 10 being most).

It's the only way to handle features when 1/2 of the install base wants white and the other half wants black.

The "Feature Request" survey will be available next week to customers only.
