Tom or anyone,

When I tried to create a rectangular padstack in padstack designer I could only get square.

Every time I click on the rectangle it ould pop up square.

Any help?  Confused

Actually, the pad stack designer, though functional doesn't currently contribute to any footprint generator process and really should be turned off.  It was used primarily a tool for developing the pad stack software.
However, since you asked...notice the Height & Width controls below the Shape selection pull down menu.
If you change width to be longer than height or height to be less than width you'll get the rectangle shape.

So you can not edit a padstack in this tool, only in the board software?

That's correct for V2012.

We will add many new interactive advanced features in the V2013 release.

I hope you could complete the padstack manager so it will generate a perfect solder paste layer. All with rounded corners, percentage reductions etcetera. Then I can ask the assembly facility that no adjustments have to be made to that layer.

Success to the software developers!

Best regards,
Maarten

Adding a Paste Mask reduction by percentage is high on our list on new features for V2012.

But our first goal is to complete the standard Through-hole component families.

I believe the answer to the first question in this thread has been answered - Yes PCB Footprint Expert for Rounded Rectangle pad shape now works in Allegro.
