Using Library Expert Free and all of the sudden it no longer generates 3D models. Also I no longer see the option to turn 3D model on/off. Thanks |

3D STEP is available in the Enterprise - free, just pay maintenance of $299 / year. Yes, it was turned off today. We have V2021.13 Footprint Expert Pro in beta test that has 3D STEP for free. Download and install that version. I just installed V2021.13 Footprint Expert Pro, set up the cloud key, but still can't generate 3d step models. Footprint models are generated fine...

We're in the middle of turning off 3D STEP in V2020 Library Expert Pro and turn it on in the V2021 Footprint Expert Pro beta so you can test it out and report any issues to me. Try V2021.13 again. I just downloaded 2021.13 Pro and it has 3D STEP. May be it was my fault, but I didn't saw the 3D model checkbox. Now it works fine (when I checked it).

Good news! Let me know if you find any bugs in the beta release and we'll fix them immediately. Our goal was to add more features in V2021 and bring it up to current electronic industry technology. You now have "Options" by simply save your personal Options .opt file you can edit several hundred values including Drafting Outlines for Legend, Assembly, Courtyard, package Body, Terminals and Origin Marker. You now have "FP Designer" to automate the creation of non-standard and connector footprints. Customize your pad stacks and create complex footprints from mfr. recommended patterns. You now have "Library Editor" to save all you package dimensions, your personal polarity markings, custom 3D STEP colors, footprint rotation and the mfr. recommended pattern dimensions. Library Editor also has "Batch Build" so you can create many footprints and 3D models with a mouse click using your personal Options. Just tried it again this morning and now it looks like 3D step is working. But maybe there is bug because then it stopped working. But if uncheck and then check 3D model then it generates the step file. |

3D step output mostly works for me, except for chip ferrite beads. Occasionally I get an error message with chip resistors or chip capacitors but it worked after a few tries/restarts. With the ferrite bead however, there is not even an error message. I'm using 2021.13 Pro beta. Is there a list of known problems for 2021 beta?

The same here. Today 3D generation doesn't work. Check / uncheck also doesn't help.

There's no list of V2021.13 fixed bugs except there is a number - 16 bugs that will be fixed and all versions released today in V2021.16 beta. Most bugs are easy 5 minute issues and some take 2 days. In addition to the bugs, the programmers are implementing some customer requests for new features. Hi Tom, Installed the V2021.17 3D generation option is working only for BGA not able to see the 3D export check box for the rest of the components. |

The Free V2021.01 Footprint Expert Pro is officially released after 1.5 years in development. The Free V2021 Footprint Expert Pro is full featured with "Options, Library Editor, Batch Build, FP Designer, etc.). No difference between Footprint Expert Enterprise and Pro except Pro has some Banner Ads. The Free V2021 Footprint Expert Pro is only intended as a footprint automation tool for 12 CAD tools:
In 10 days, OrCAD PCB, PADS Standard, all Zuken CAD tools and Altium will be removed. The new V2021 Pro does not support 3D STEP except for BGA's.
