If you get this error, it's an easy fix. Just try the solutions below and contact us if your issue is not resolved.

The license server has encountered a problem:
LocalCommErr
Program will continue to run with limited license options.

  1. Sentinel / LDK License Manager was stopped. Usually, a simple computer restart will take care of this. If not, go to My Computer (right-click) > Manage > Services and re-enable the Sentinel service.
  2. The drivers on a client (or server) are obsolete or have become corrupted. You can tell if by pointing a browser on each machine to the Admin Control Center: http://localhost:1947/_int_/diag.html" rel="nofollow - - if you get an error when trying to load this page, or if the “Run-time installer and Package” are not 7.80 or newer, or if they mis-match, install the latest drivers from here (see "Sentinel Run Time Installer" at this link):   http://www.pcblibraries.com/products/fpx/userguide/default.asp?ch=305" rel="nofollow - http://www.pcblibraries.com/products/fpx/userguide/default.asp?ch=305 http://www.pcblibraries.com/products/fpx/userguide/default.asp?ch=71" rel="nofollow - http://www.pcblibraries.com/products/fpx/userguide/default.asp?ch=71" rel="nofollow - http://www.pcblibraries.com/products/fpx/userguide/default.asp?ch=71" rel="nofollow - http://www.pcblibraries.com/products/fpx/userguide/default.asp?ch=71" rel="nofollow - http://www.pcblibraries.com/products/fpx/userguide/default.asp?ch=71" rel="nofollow -
  3. Firewall change and/or lockout. Network license only. Could be Windows firewall or another third party (Norton, McAfee, ZoneAlarm, etc). Fix: open Port 1947 on both client and server to both TCP and UDP traffic.
  4. Server IP address changed. Network license only. Try to use the steps here to configure an IP address:
