If I use the Library Expert Lite (Free) 2016.13 version, I see in the left corner the statement: Default Source: Internal IPC defaults (7351B).

If I generate a QFP shape then the Land Pattern Name is accoring the 7351C convention.
Quad Flat Packages.....................QFP + Pin Qty. + P Pitch _ Lead Span L1 X Lead Span L2 Nominal X Height + L Lead Length X Width + T Thermal Pad Length X Width.

I was expecting the 7351B name: Quad Flat Packages ....QFP + Pitch P + Lead Span L1 X Lead Span L2 Nominal X Height ‐ Pin Qty.
Is this correct?

The IPC-7351B naming convention produces too much duplication and has many faults that we can't deal with anymore.

Same with the IPC-7351B solder joint goals. We're receiving complaints about solder joints either being too big or too small.

V2017.01 will be released today and all of the default settings will be IPC-7351C.

However, if you are a Library Expert Pro user, you can easily set everything back to IPC-7351B, but it's not easy in the Lite Version.

One of the big features in V2017.01 Lite is that we're removing all of the pin limits. There are also new features, but most of those are in the Pro version.

Okay, nice to hear that V2017.01 is coming and that that the pin limits are removed.

I hope that the "Library_Expert_Customer_Library_Content.pdf" in the Libraries directory also will be updated to IPC-7351C.

Is V2017.01 the same as just released V2016.14?

V2017.01 Lite will be released next week.

V2017.01 Pro is in Pre-release for final testing before the release next week.

V2016.14 Lite is released, but there will be another Batch Build today to fix one more bug that was reported by a user.
