Hi!

Unable to find polarity (1pin) marker on 3D step model.
Particular part - MCP23016-I/SO from Microchip.

Is it feature or bug ?

Thanks a lot!

Are you using the new V2019.01 Library Expert?

The new release has updated SOIC 3D STEP polarity marking.

I haven't access to V2019.
So I'm on V2018 right now.

The V2019.01 will be released soon to every one and the 3D STEP Polarity Marker is fixed.

We're just waiting for the programmers to put the finishing touches on it.

Someone reported this a couple weeks ago and it was fixed immediately for the Enterprise users in V2018.10 pre-release.

Can you send me the FPX you used to generate this part? I'll take a look at it.

I downloaded it from POD.

Manufacturer: Microchip
Part Number: MCP23016-I/SO
Case Code: C04-052
Datasheet: Download PDF
Footprint Name: SOIC28P127_1786X1034X264L83X43

I can upload .fpx but it is signed for my pod-key. I think it will not work on other pc.

The polarity marking for 50 mil pin pitch SOIC's is the chamfer along the top edge.

Metric pitch SOP's have a pin 1 dot (not inch based SOIC's).
