This might be more a feature request then a bug report as I expect the functionality isn't there to begin with.
If you right-click an .fpx file in Explorer and select OPEN WITH and associate it to always open with PCB Footprint Expert the the program opens but with a blank start-up screen.  Selecting Window Library shows no library open.  It'd be a nice to be able to open an FPX file via explorer.

I suspect that this feature isn't written in the program at present.  I just tried it to see if it would work.

That would be a nice feature - I like to pin things to my jump lists in windows 7 and use them regularly from explorer to get to the things I use most.

We're 1/2 way there with this feature.

In the next release, V2012.27 you will be able to Right Mouse Click on any FPX file and select "Open With > Footprint Expert".

The program opens but the FPX file does not load yet. We hope to have this issue completed resolved and implemented soon.

Great suggestion!
