I currently have a library of pad stacks named in mils rather than millimeters.

For example a surface mount rectangular pad 24 mils X by 36 mils Y is called SM24R36. A plated thru circular finished hole of 20 mils diameter with pad diameter of 44 mils is called PTH44C20.

Can I customize PCB Footprint Expert to output pad stacks in mils rather than mm? And is there any control over how it constructs or allows customization of pad stack names?

In the "Tools > Options > Console > Create Pad Stack Name in > Mils

You can also have the Footprint Name in Mils.

That's great news. Thanks.

Where I work we use the metric IPC names when possible but padstacks have always been in mils. I see this tool also supports custom names like manufacturer_partno_#pins such as samtec connectors or for a specific manufacturer non-jedec footprint name.

We are currently using version 10.3 of the LP Calculator by the way.

The LP Calculator 10.3 hasn't been touched since 2010 (12 years ago).

Our latest footprint calculator is called V2022.06 Footprint Expert.
