    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.PCBLibraries.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=3">Tom H</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 3328<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 16 Oct 2023 at 8:21am<br /><br />Satellite vias are usually used for mounting holes that need extra support for mounting hardware.&nbsp;<div><br></div><div>When using torque to screw to a nut with washer you might need the extra support to prevent crushing the FR4 glass.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Without this support of satellite vias, you might crush the FR4 glass with too much torque.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Also, because screws going to mounting holes might need to be grounded, the satellite vias provide extra grounding support.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div>]]>

Under the head? Outside of the head? <br></div><div>- What should the diameter of the vias be? Is it proportional to the hole's dimension?</div><div><br></div><div>Thanks in advance!<br></div><div><br></div>]]>
