Hi Tom,
Thanks for sharing your Knowledge!!! In my particulary situation with the diode BAV99DW-7-F, I will use the SOP model instead the SOT only because SOT has the word transistor and the compnent is not a transistor and SOP is more generic name: "Small Outline Package". Best regards. dramos

TSSOP = Thin Shrink Small Outline Package
Thin = What? Who decides what Thin is? Shrink = Fine Pitch. What is "Fine Pitch" today? TSSOP is a mfr. created marketing name because they want to promote their Thin Fine Pitch package. In today's reality, it's just an SOP, which is an Integrated Circuit. SOT = Small Outline Transistor. Every NXP Case Code starts with SOT. It's their way for creating a Case Code ID. They're not all Transistors, most of them are semiconductors. It's just a Case Code. |

Hi to all,
I have a question with the next component: Diodes BAV99DW-7-F. According with the data, it is a SOT-363 package. When I start creating the component with PCBLibraries I don't know if it is a SOT-23 package with outward L lead or a SOP with L lead. For example, for NXP the SOT363 is a TSSOP6. I checked the footprint in both cases - SOP6P65_200X210X110L32X20N - SOT23-P65_210X110L32X20N and they are similar S=1.15mm L=0.79mm, W=0.37mm I know that both packages come from the JEITA SC-88, but if I create it using a SOT23 model or a SOP model the final name of the footprint is different and it could create problems. Has anyone had any similar experience? Thanks to all for your comments. dramos |
