Hi,

I have watched all the software updates in the last year, and very little is done to improve OrCAD/Allegro support.

In the bug section, OrCAD issues are gathering dust.

I gave up a while ago submitting new bugs, especially with the CAD translator, because nothing is ever done.

Don't you think it is time to invest in an OrCAD ver. 22.1 license and modernize & fix your CAD translator?

Best regards,
GV

We've had OrCAD for several months and actually have addressed some user reports in that time.  But OrCAD is just one of the 27 CAD tools that we support.  Unfortunately, the software designer for all the CAD tools left us about two years ago in the middle of development of current version of the Footprint Expert software.  That development phase is largely complete now and more attention will be devoted to CAD translator maintenance.

Hi Jeff,

May I suggest that you designate "CAD of the month" update sprees. For instance, you could dedicate April to "Altium", May to "Orcad/Allegro", June to "Mentor/Expedition", July to "Mentor/Pads".... I believe those are the 4 major CAD tools in used today.  Besides bug fixes, you could ask customer what they wish you to improve with their specific CAD translators.

Best regards,
GV
