Hello, IPC-DRM-18H page 60 has DFN (Dual Flat No Lead) packages.

For an IC such as http://pdfserv.maxim-ic.com/package_dwgs/21-0137.PDF" rel="nofollow - pdfserv.maxim-ic.com/package_dwgs/21-0137.PDF with multiple pads either side these are not within the LEP.

SON with tab seems the nearest, is this the correct one to use for this package please?

Also is there any sort of list that says which LEP family to use for which known as family?

Thank you
Matthew

This package is not a DFN (although that is what the Mfr. calls it).

JEDEC and IPC call this a SON w/Tab.

The main documents that explains all the package names and solder joint goals are here -

Download "Surface Mount Component Families"

Note: there was a major update to this document this last weekend and we're all waiting for it to post today. It has 10 additional pages of information and the new IPC-7351C (Proposed) solder joint goal tables and updated land pattern images.

Cheers Tom, Thumbs Up

The correct one was chosen then, I'll scribble on my IPC-DRM-18H book. Smile

It's in the "PCB Library Construction Guidelines" section in the Forum -

Along with other library construction documents.

Also on the "Downloads" page, look for the "Surface Mount Components" button.
Date updated (as of this point) is 8/15/2016.

Cheers Tom, is it not available as a PDF anywhere?

Nick, its not in the surface mount document - that's component naming - not padstack naming.

I really do need to gather all these docs and make a folder full - trying to find PDF's all the time is very time consuming. To hell with the idea of a paperless office - I cant doodle on that :)
