Can't Run Library Expert Lite - Licence Server?

On one of my PC's I tried to install Library Expert Lite but when I try to run it it gives me a dialogue box with the title:

FPX_2016

and the message:

Unable to continue - licence server not found.

I have uninstalled, reinstalled and upgraded to the latest version to no avail. Same error message every time.

Why does Expert Lite look for a licence server? How can I run Expert Lite without this problem?

You likely use a Proxy Server. Please try the following (Win10), but you should be able to follow along the way for Win7 and Win8:

  1. Open "Settings" or "Control "Panel"
  2. Select "Network and Sharing Center"
  3. Select "Internet Options", "Connections" tab, and "LAN Settings" button
  4. Select the "Advanced" button
  5. Add "www.PCBLibraries.com" to the exception list and click OK

 I had the same issue this morning when my internet connection was down.
It looks like that you only can use the Library Expert Lite (2017.09) software with an internet connection and not disconnected.
The System Requirements.txt file is saying "- Internet connection is required for connecting to the Parts on Demand database" so disconnected should the Lite version work because I'm not using the POD database
What is happening?

The Lite version needs to connect to the server to stream ads. No connection will lock up the Lite. The Pro version doesn't have ads and does not require an internet connection. can we make Lite go throught proxy ? with proxy password ?

Proxy servers are not currently supported.
