Subject: Square NO_PROBE For Round Radial Parts

Hi,

Library Expert V2016.03 Allegro Output NO_PROBE area is generated as square instead of Round for Radial LED.

Same issue existed in V2015.21 and I posted the problem in forum back then, but it's still not fixed.

I'm adding a 1.9 mm Excess "NO_PROBE" from component body, component body is circle, then why is "NO_PROBE" coming as square?.

I want a ROUND shape for Allegro "NO_PROBE".

The same issue exists for round Radial [Electrolytic].

Can you fix this?

I'll take a look and see if I can come up with a resolution for this. Right now it uses a square because its going to the extents of the particular shape. Its not really based on whether or not its square. I'll see what I can do though.

Simply select the Radial LED Reference part and No Probe should be Courtyard. Output to Allegro and it should work. If you're trying to do something other than that, let me know.

I want to use Components Body as reference.
Hope you will fix it in next version.

We recommend that you remove the courtyard "Excess" so that it hugs the Footprint Boundary.

We cannot change the square NO_PROBE to Round Shape.

I notice that you are putting an "Excess" value in your NO_PROBE setting. Just use the Courtyard which is 0.25 mm Excess and add on to that.

Dear Tom,

Courtyard excess created in any shape. But why No probe can't create so ? Is any IPC rules for creation NO_PROBE ?

For Radial LED couryard is OK, but for other components like TO-92, crystal, SMD Electrolyic Capacitor NO_PROBE created as rectangle shape when selecting option both Component body and Cortyard.

There is no IPC standard for Allegro / OrCAD PCB NO_PROBE test point keep-outs.

How critical is such a feature? That the no probe be able to expand a polygon courtyard without using a rectangle?

Dear Chrisa,

I know that, but if it will create automatically that's good.
I am expecting a 100% completed output form FPX.
