I cannot find this in the library editor.   Ditto for "Import Footprint."

"Open Template
Templates are used to create individual FPX files for upload to the POD website. There are unique Templates for each component manufacturer that contain the manufacturer's name and the web-link to their website.

.............

Opens this folder – C:\Program Files (x86)\PCB Libraries\FPX 2012\Templates

..............

The Template is primarily used for creating FPX files with one Part Number to upload it to the PCB Libraries server to add to the master library collection.

When you insert the component dimensions and component mfr. attributes and then select the "Save" icon (Step 4), the file name will automatically be generated Component Mfr. _ Mfr. Part Number. If you try to save the Template with missing data, the program will alert you that necessary attribute data is missing.

You can change the default library folder in "Set Up> User Preferences > Setup > Template Directory".

Templates were 2 years ago when we were going to have customers upload parts to POD.

We decided not to go that route and hire a professional library company to do the heavy lifting.

Templates were a part of the V2012 software and are no longer used in V2015.

OK.  Time to review and update the help pages.  There seem to be several mismatches.  This is one.

Can you confirm which version you're using? I searched the online http://www.pcblibraries.com/products/fpx/userguide/" rel="nofollow - User Guide and found no instance/mention of "templates", same with the Help File that comes with the Library Expert 2015. If you have it in your directory, it could be a remnant from an earlier installation. You can get the latest version from http://www.pcblibraries.com/downloads" rel="nofollow - here .
