Hello,

my question refers to the Library Expert Lite 2013 (I know it's an older Version). Is there a way to create a footprint for a single row pin header which pins are not centered in reference to the plastic? The following datasheet shows a example of such a pin header. With reference to the short side of the plastic, the pin row is not in the middle.

Not in the free Library Expert Lite.

But certainly in Library Expert Pro.

Hello Tom,

thank you very much for your reply. For me (student) the Pro version is a bit too expensive. So I have to correct the offset by myself. Is it common to include this offset in the naming of the footprint? If yes, where should I insert the offset in the following example of a 6 pin header?

For all connectors, I would highly recommend this naming convention as it's perfect for connectors.

Hello Tom,

thank you for your hint. Now, as I read your answer I remember that this solution is described in the document "Footprint Naming Convention - Non-standard Component" which can be downloaded form your site. http://www.pcblibraries.com/account/user/memberdownloads.asp" rel="nofollow - http://www.pcblibraries.com/account/user/memberdownloads.asp
