The documentation seems pretty ambiguous about it. I just bought Library Expert, and its help files refer to Footprint Expert a lot.

Second question.... How do I create a set of footprints for OrCAD PCB Editor from the information in the Library Expert? None of the videos nor the menu items that I have explored so far have talked about it in a way that is obvious to me, sorry. I bought the tool because it has the footprints that I would otherwise have to create by hand, but I can't figure out how to use the tool to make something that OrCAD can open.

Third question: I've paid, so when do I get to use the tool? I installed the trial license - will the HASP be shipped before I run out of time or sessions?

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for purchasing!! The documentation was updated and will be available in the next release.

Please review the steps to output to OrCAD PCB here:

The key will go out on Monday and you should receive it in a few days. If you need an extension, please contact me offline via private message or email.

Thanks, Nick - I had read that part on the scripts, but the "Build" button was greyed out and wouldn't do anything, so I couldn't get to the scripts. For some reason, changing the number of pins on the QFN that I was trying to make (it was stuck at 28, and I need 48) didn't work, and from that I generalized that filling in the rest of the entries wouldn't either. My mistake - but you could clear that up a bit with a HowTo somewhere that would work with the demo license. It's just a missing step in the process - you go to great detail on how to build new components from the templates, but nowhere mention what to do when the Build button isn't active.
How DO I get the QFN to change from 28 to 48 pins? And why isn't something that isn't changeable greyed out in that part of the UI, like it is elsewhere?

Thanks again for your help - great tool, once I learn how to use it.

The only time the build button is greyed out is when the user changes any component dimension.

When the User changes any package data you must select the "OK" button to allow the program to recalculate the Footprint dimensions.

You need a webcast training session to ask all the questions you want.
