I made about a half dozen parts for eagle 5.1 and following the steps outlined in "PCB Footprint Expert to EAGLE" then I ran into this error.

line 56 "Don't know what to edit" after step "Go to file> Script", between this step and "Select your .scr file, and select Open".

It always starts with line 56 and then if you try to go one it will list additional line of error.

The test part Nick emailed me works fine so I may have something "set wrong"?????

I have a directory set for parts to be saved and set out put for eagle.

Anyone got an idea what I may have done wrong?

Much Thanks,

David Ouch

I'll need the file you're trying to import.

Thank you for your interest and help.

How do I attach a file or get it to you?

Thanks,

David

You can always send it to support*at*pcblibraries.com

But you can also attach a file if you select the "Reply" button in the forum post and it opens more editing options.

The problem is that you're using a space in the footprint name 'SOT-23 MCP 810'.

Eagle doesn't now what do to with a .pac file with spaces. Add _ where you see spaces in the Edit line so that you have:

Edit SOT-23 MCP 809.pac;

changed to:

Edit SOT-23_MCP_809.pac;

And it will import. I'm going to have the code do this automatically with v.14. It'll replace any spaces in the .pac name with underlines. But performing the edit will get you past the problem until then.

Cool!!! Didn't think of that.

Let me give it a try, but I believe you. Got to get this project moving again.

Soooooo Much Thanks!!!

You are good!

This is Great, you are all so pro active with this product. However, while renaming the files this fix only worked for one file.

So I am going to delete them all and remake them with new file-names today and see what happens.

Thanks for all your help.

Ok, my last post was 23 min. ago. Just made another part.

This time I watched the naming convention carefully. Went ahead and imported into Eagle 5.1.

Yah Hoo!!!! Tongue

Works Great!!!

Oh this software is so sweet!

Well, better get off and get to work and make the rest of them.

Everybody should get this software. Man, I'm not getting paid to say any of this, but making parts has been a pain for such a long time......

Thanks PCB, but warning, I'm sure I will be back with more questions as I go along.  Wink

David
