I have the question by shape of courtyard for connectors and non-standard packages.
What is the shape will be preferred for them - rectangle or contoured polygon? Thank you for any help. |

We always do a contoured courtyard but if the bends are slight, you can adjust the Courtyard to body and courtyard to pad to remove any bends.
Example: make the Courtyard to Body 0.30 and the Courtyard to Pad 0.20. |

Hi Tom and all,
Could you explain more about Courtyard... When use different values for Courtyard to body and for Courtyard to pad? This is something that I cannot imagine. I've realized that, in the default preferences of the program, the values are the same in both cases. Thanks to all for your comments. Regards. David

For standard packages it 0.20 mm for the Nominal Density Level.
Double that for the Maximum Density and Halve it for the Least Density. For non-standard parts under 10 mm for any L X W X H dimensions it's 0.25 mm. For non-standard parts over 10 mm for any L X W X H dimensions it's 0.50 mm. ![]() |
