I set up the prefernces to big the solder mask in the Library expert. But When I downloaded the FPX file in the POD, I founded solder mask oversize is missing. FPX file has two type. one type is made in the suface mount menu. two type is made in the FP designer. It seems to be a file made of the FP designer. Why doesn't it make the solder mask oversize? |

Preferences for Solder Mask only apply to "Standard" Calculator parts.
You can fully edit the solder mask swell in FP Designer by using the "Edit Pad Stack" button in the toolbar which opens the "Pad Stack Manager". Then select the Solder Mask layer for each pad stack and change the value to whatever you want. Then re-save the part to your FPX file by selecting the FINISH tab and OK > Add to Lib buttons. Make sure that the entire row in the FPX file is highlighted so that you update that entry and not add a new Row. |

IPC recommends and most of our customers use a 1:1 scale solder mask and allow the fabrication CAM expert auto-swell the solder mask using Valor's Genesis tool. With 1 click of a button and solder mask data is swelled per their manufacturing tolerances. So 1:1 scale solder mask is the Library Expert default.
However, some of our customers like to swell the solder mask and we have no idea on how much swell each customer needs. some 0.10, some 0.08, some 0.075, some 0.05. So you must change the pad stack solder mask swell to whatever your company standard is. |
