Has anyone used PCB Footprint Expert with KiCad?
Perhaps exporting to an intermediate format like eagle and then into KiCad?

I have never heard of KiCad. Does it have an ASCII import / export?

Do they have a Lite or Demo version? Is it free? Does KiCad import other CAD tool library files?

For right now, outputting through the Eagle translator to the ULP is your best bet.

I have tried this, and I've managed to get as far as the UDP export from Eagle, but I have not managed to get a footprint into KiCad. If anyone has done this successfully, can you post a workflow on how to get from PCB Library Expert Lite > Eagle > UDP > KiCad?

As far as I know, no one has done it and we don't currently support KiCad natively.

Latest versions of KiCad claim to support Eagle footprints natively (read-only)
