Sometimes the dimensions on a manufacturer's datasheet aren't complete enough for the entry boxes so the user has to make an educated guess, such as when a manufacturer only includes a minimum dimension, or only a maximum dimension, or leaves out a dimension so you have to use two others to work out the missing dimension.

It would be useful to have a "comments" field where a user could write some sensible notes in to be saved in the FPX file so that they can refer to them in the future or other users can see.

I highly recommend that you add a new "Column" called "Comments" in the FPX file to type in your personal comments and messages as reminders.
